I'm Alex — Alejandro Benitez. I'm an electrical engineer-in-training (EIT) who works on the interesting intersection of power electronics, embedded systems, and things with wheels. By day it's circuit boards, CAN buses, and batteries; by evening it's soldering stations, antennas, and whatever project is currently turned on its side in the garage.
This site is a continuation of my old personal page from ~20 years ago. The music I made as a kid lives here too, fully self-hosted. You'll see what I mean...

Amateur radio is where the engineering hobby and the tinkerer in me collide hardest: antennas on roofs, radios that need coax before breakfast, and a worldwide community that treats "73" like a handshake.

A classic truck that used to run on a carburetor. Full conversion to electronic fuel injection for driveability, cold starts, and reliability.
A full camper conversion: new carpet, dinette cushions, a proper sound system, and a real shower with hot water — powered entirely by the sun and a lithium bank.

I started making music around age 7 and dropped albums for about a decade, releasing under the name Aenite (and a few other handles you'd find on old Bandcamp diggs). It all still lives here — self-hosted, playable, no redirects. Buy what you like on Bandcamp if it brings you joy.
